Job Description
Job Goal: To maintain the facility and grounds in a condition of operating excellence, cleanliness and safety so that full educational use of the facility may be made at all times.
Terms of Employment: Nine and one-fourth (9.25) month contract (184 days) eight (8) hours per day, pay range $16,973 – $29,491 plus Benefits Package. Precise placement on the salary scale will be determined based upon experience.
FLSA: Non-Exempt.

- Ability to deal courteously with the public and maintain working relations with staff members.
- Dependable and able to assume responsibility.
- Good physical health.
- Neat and clean in appearance.
- Ability to care for tools and materials.
Such alternatives and additions to the above qualifications may be deemed appropriate by the Superintendent. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may require.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for cleanliness and safety of assigned areas.
- Assists others in maintaining the entire building and grounds.
- Responsible for yard work assigned.
- Responsible for cleaning windows.
- Maintains floors, baseboards, etc., to an acceptable standard.
- Maintains a sanitary cafeteria in cooperation with cafeteria staff.
- Follows instructions of the head custodian or the designee.
- Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the head custodian.

Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, go up and down stairs, operate foot and hand controls, use a telephone and write. Occasionally the employee must lift and/or move up to forty (40) or more pounds. This position requires accurate perception of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, handling and working with educational materials and/or objects, and providing oral information.
Must have the ability to work for the duration of the daily contracted time period, and to be physically present and at assigned work, with only infrequent unexcused absences, during the contract year. Additional technical skills, knowledge and abilities may be recommended by immediate supervisor and approved by the Human Resources Director.
