Experienced Server for Upscale Dining

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Server to join our upscale dining establishment located in Rice Village in Houston TX. Caia is a new full service speakeasy restaurant and bar. The ideal candidate will have a passion for exceptional guest service, a strong background in fine dining, and proficiency with various POS systems. This role offers an opportunity to work in a sophisticated environment where attention to detail, professionalism, and culinary knowledge are highly valued. Candidates with prior restaurant experience, especially in high-end settings, will thrive in this position. The server will be responsible for delivering an outstanding dining experience, ensuring guest satisfaction, and maintaining the highest standards of food safety and sanitation.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, personalized service throughout their dining experience
• Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Toast POS, Micros POS, and OpenTable / Seven Rooms
• Upsell menu items and wine pairings to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales
• Serve food and beverages efficiently while maintaining presentation standards
• Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments through POS systems
• Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and safety protocols are followed at all times
• Assist with bussing tables, resetting tables promptly, and maintaining cleanliness in the dining area
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and resolve any issues promptly
• Provide guest relations by addressing inquiries or concerns professionally and courteously
• Support host/hostess duties as needed, including managing reservations and seating arrangements

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a server in upscale dining environments.
• Familiarity with POS systems such asToast POS, Micros POS, and OpenTable
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation procedures, and food handling techniques
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask efficiently during busy service periods
• Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction and relationship building
• Ability to upsell menu items effectively to maximize sales opportunities
• Basic math skills for cash handling and bill splitting; cashiering experience is advantageous
• Previous experience in food industry roles such as serving or host/hostess positions preferred
• Knowledge of food preparation, culinary terminology, and restaurant operations is beneficial
• Professional appearance, positive attitude, and team-oriented mindset
