Hospital Bistro Barista/Cashier

Position Highlights

  • Starting pay $15.75-$16.75/hour. Pay raise after 400hrs completed, based on years of experience.
  • Consistent schedule working 3 days per week 6:30am-7pm
  • Day shift hours available

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve specialty coffee beverages, teas, smoothies, and other bistro menu items according to established recipes and quality standards
  • Operate cash register and accurately process cash, credit card, and mobile payment transactions
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to hospital staff, visitors, and guests in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked beverage and service station
  • Restock coffee supplies, food items, grab-and-go products, and retail merchandise as needed
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection prevention guidelines
  • Assist with opening, closing, and daily cleaning procedures
  • Monitor product freshness and ensure food and beverage displays remain attractive and well-stocked
  • Work collaboratively with team members to provide efficient service during peak meal and beverage periods
  • Address customer questions and resolve concerns in a professional and courteous manner

Qualifications

  • Previous barista, cashier, food service, café, or customer service experience preferred
  • Experience operating a cash register and handling transactions accurately
  • Knowledge of coffee preparation and espresso-based beverages preferred
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • ServSafe certification is a plus but not required
  • GED or High School Diploma preferred
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
