We are seeking a dedicated, upbeat, compassionate, and highly motivated Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist to join our growing Primary Care practice.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys both direct patient care and being actively involved in the day-to-day operations of a medical practice. Clinical Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures including EKGs, ultrasounds, vaccines, injections, IV therapy, and other office-based procedures.
- Perform patient intake including:
- Vital signs
- Chief complaint documentation
- Medication reconciliation
- Allergy review
- Medical history collection
- Administer immunizations, intramuscular injections, over-the-counter medications, and prescription medications under physician direction.
- Perform phlebotomy on both adult and pediatric patients.
- Order laboratory testing, collect specimens, properly label samples, and coordinate laboratory pickups.
- Assist with in-office procedures when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
- Educate patients regarding treatment plans, medications, preventive care, and follow-up instructions.
- Support efficient patient flow throughout the clinic.
- Provide phone-based support for patients with chronic medical conditions as time allows.
- Maintain clinic cleanliness and compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards.
Administrative & Patient Service Responsibilities
- Answer incoming phone calls professionally and courteously.
- Respond to patient messages through the Healow patient portal.
- Schedule appointments and coordinate patient care needs.
- Complete medication and medical device prior authorizations.
- Process prescription refill requests and provider-authorized prescriptions.
- Assist with patient registration, insurance verification, and other administrative duties as needed.
- Support front-office operations and help ensure patients receive a welcoming, professional experience from the moment they contact the practice.
- Serve as a positive representative of the practice in all patient interactions, whether in person, on the phone, or electronically.
- Help identify opportunities to improve patient satisfaction and office efficiency.

Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant or equivalent training is required.
- Demonstrated competency in phlebotomy is required.
- Previous experience in an outpatient medical practice preferred.
- Strong customer service and patient communication skills required.
- Ability to communicate professionally and compassionately with patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations.
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, computer, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain positive, professional, and patient-focused in a busy clinical environment.
