We’re seeking a Project Engineer with experience in civil traffic/transportation design to join our team based in San Jose.Hybrid or remote work from our Redwood City or Pleasanton offices may be an option for the right candidate. The ideal candidate will bring a few years of experience and a strong technical foundation in transportation design and civil engineering.

You’ll work closely with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver publicly funded roadway, highway, and multimodal corridor projects - helping shape the future of transportation across the region. The position also offers opportunities for professional development and providing technical support throughout all phases of project delivery - from planning and design through construction support.

Responsibilities

Design and coordination of transportation infrastructure projects including roadways, corridors, roundabouts, curbs, retaining walls, overpasses, transit facilities, and ADA curb ramps

Design and coordination of traffic engineering projects including signal design, pavement marking/striping, signage, and multimodal corridor improvements

Preparation of geometric design plans and profiles in compliance with Caltrans, local, and regional standards

Development of grading, drainage, and stormwater management plans for transportation corridors

Design of transportation-related utility systems and coordination with public agencies and utility providers

Development of quantity takeoffs and cost estimates

Integration of multimodal and sustainable design elements such as complete streets, green infrastructure, and ADA compliance

Apply Federal, State (e.g. Caltrans), City, and County codes

Preparation of conceptual design studies and alternatives analyses for roadway and multimodal improvements
