As a Line Cook, you will play a vital role working closely with our Lead Cook to produce our widely sought after menu. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a passion for cooking and a desire for stability and a supportive team-based environment. We are looking to fill three (3) closing shifts per week. Friday, Saturday, Sunday 9am-4pm. Shifts are usually 6-8 hours, depending on workflow, bulk orders and prep needed. Additional prep hours possible. Key Responsibilities:Cooking:-Eggs- sunny side up is how we display eggs for service although they are cooked to order-Execute Little Jaye s famous smashwich & biscuits & gravy other menu items with quality and consistency -Preparing multiple tickets with multiple items and variations while maintaining timing and accuracy-Ability to stay calm under pressure and manage very high-volume production-Ability to stay clean and organized during high volume servicePrep:-Prepare ingredients and components for kitchen line service (chopping, portioning, cooking, etc.)- Maintain organization and cleanliness of line, prep areas, and storage spaces-Keep proper dates and labels on all consumables while following proper rotational standards-Ability to stay clean and organizedTeamwork:- Working shifts as back up in times of need- Assist with basic prep including measuring, mixing, baking, cooking, cutting, frying, etc.- Support barista station with tasks such as preparing retail food items, helping customers with special requests or diet restrictions - Assist meat counter operations including portioning, labeling, and proper storage- Help with receiving and storing deliveries properly- Work collaboratively with team members across all departments- Provide customer service support when needed-Ability to cover scheduled time off or sick days for other employees, they will do the same for youRequirements & Qualifications:-Excellent communication skills -Friendly, hardworking, and accountable with excellent teamwork mindset- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards- Previous kitchen line or food prep experience preferred- Basic understanding of food safety and cleanliness standards- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment- Strong attention to detail and organization- Comfortable working across multiple stations and learning new skills- Must be willing and available to work weekends- Ability to problem solve for customer service in a calm mannerPhysical Requirements:- Ability to stand for extended periods- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.- Comfortable working in a busy kitchen environmentWhat We Offer:- Competitive hourly pay (based on experience)- Opportunities for growth and cross-training- Supportive, team-driven work environment-$23 an hour plus tips ($26 an hour after tips) Little Jaye Cafe & Bakery is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity in the workplace.
