Senior Accountant

A well-established and growing organization in Versailles, KY is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its team. This position will play a key role in managing day-to-day accounting operations, supporting financial reporting, and partnering with leadership on budgeting and forecasting initiatives. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and thrives in a dynamic, operations-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage general ledger (GL) activity to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
• Prepare and post journal entries and ensure proper supporting documentation
• Lead the month-end close (MEC) process, including account reconciliations and variance analysis
• Oversee and manage accounts payable (AP) operations, ensuring timely processing and controls
• Track and reconcile consignment-related sales activity, including recording and reporting transactions
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting, including analysis of actuals vs. budget
• Prepare financial reports and support ad hoc reporting requests for leadership
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support business operations and financial decision-making

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 3–6+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong understanding of GL, journal entries, and month-end close processes
• Experience overseeing or supporting accounts payable functions
• Demonstrated experience with budgeting and forecasting
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
