Compensation

$14.00 - $14.92 per hour

Position Summary

This position monitors and coordinates the activities of assigned laboratories to enable effective and safe lab operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist lab assistants and support faculty and students regarding appropriate use of equipment and lab procedures, mixing chemicals; troubleshoot problems.
  • Set up and take down labs for class when appropriate.
  • Clean and stock materials.
  • Provide necessary materials and equipment required for effective laboratory instruction and experiments.
  • Assist faculty with the preparation of lab materials (mixing chemicals) and lab tests.
  • Monitor and coordinate lab activities; train and/or provide guidance to part-time lab technicians and student assistants.
  • Maintain safe and clean working conditions in the lab.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Prepare specimens for laboratory use.
  • Maintain lab equipment as needed; keep supplies stocked as necessary.
  • Perform similar and related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree and two years of experience working in a science, chemistry or medical laboratory.
  • Must be able to work some evening and weekends.
