Job Description

  • Work from instructions and prints to arrange parts into welding fixtures, clamp pieces into position and tack weld and/or apply finished weld. Select proper equipment, set voltage and wire feed settings to obtain proper strength and appearance.
  • Safely operate forklift to load and unload raw material and completed parts.
  • Handle assorted raw materials, steel parts, and steel scrap.
  • Maintain work area and production equipment in clean and orderly condition. Follow all safety work rules.
  • Perform work in a manner that all products conform to prescribed quality standards.
  • Perform incoming inspection, sorting, receiving of bar stock, pipe, rod material and welding supplies.
  • Perform light maintenance on plant equipment where needed; i.e., startup/shutdown, maintain inspection records and keep work environment clean.
  • Use and understand online ERP system for data collection, work instructions, routers, and prints.
  • Operate small electric/air hand tools.
  • On occasion, cross-train and operate some or all of the following production equipment: welding robot, press brake, spot welder, turret, rivet gun, Stud gun, and sander.
  • Participate in and support continuous process improvements.
  • Other duties may be assigned that pertain to the classification.

Work Experience

  • Experience in reading blueprints (including weld symbols)
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or production-type environment
  • This is NOT a role for Pipe WELDERS - Only STRUCTURAL WELDERS SHOULD APPLY

Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of welding and fitting work
  • Measure and mark materials for welding and fitting
  • Set up and operate welding equipment to weld and fit metal components
  • Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
  • Inspect welds for accuracy and quality
  • Clean and maintain welding equipment

Skills:

  • Proficient in various welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, Flux and Stick welding
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
  • Knowledge of different types of metals and their properties
  • Familiarity with welding safety procedures and practices
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Welding certification is a plus.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45-50 per week

  • 1st shift - 6 AM - 4:30 pm (or later depending on production)

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $20.00 - $25.00 Per Hour
