Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep and repair of all equipment, including production machinery, warehouse systems, office areas, and the building itself.
This role encompasses a broad range of maintenance tasks such as mechanical, electrical (up to and including three-phase), plumbing, painting, welding, and some carpentry.
The ideal candidate must be able to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate maintenance activities with Equipment Operators and Supervisors.
- Troubleshoot a wide variety of machine applications to address production needs.
- Diagnose and repair control wiring, relay logic, motor drive circuits, control system devices, photo eyes, limit switches, proximity switches, and transducers.
- Utilize tools such as Digital Volt Meter and AMP probes to diagnose electrical issues.
- Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic installation, repair, and servicing of machinery and support systems.
- Conduct systematic preventive maintenance, including adjustments, inspections, and minor repairs on plant equipment.
- Prioritize machine breakdown repairs over other projects and tasks to minimize production downtime.
- Perform welding and machine shop tasks to repair and improve equipment and machinery.
- Complete all assigned maintenance projects in a timely, efficient, and safe manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized maintenance area for storage of parts and equipment, ensuring all shop equipment is properly maintained.
- Adhere to all safety procedures, including OSHA regulations, and maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with shift supervisors and machine operators to stay informed of daily equipment issues.
- Design and fabricate parts to improve equipment performance and safety.
- Maintain a professional image when interacting with internal and external customers and vendors.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
Essential Skills
- Troubleshooting
- Industrial maintenance including electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Preventive maintenance and repair
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints
- Experience in welding and fabrication
- Proficiency in machine repair, including conveyor systems
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures and compliance with OSHA regulations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience in industrial maintenance, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and welding
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair various types of machinery, electrical circuits, and mechanical systems
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain clean and safe work areas
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Welding and fabrication skills are a plus

- Work Environment
Industrial work environment without air conditioning due to product sensitivity to moisture.
- Work schedule consists of 10-hour shifts from Monday to Thursday, 5am to 3:30pm with a 30-minute lunch break.
Occasional Fridays may be required depending on operational needs to ensure continuity.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Albuquerque, NM.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $31.20/hr.
