The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse and
material management functions in support of construction and operational activities. This position directs
warehouse personnel and manages the receiving, inspection, storage, inventory control, staging, distribution,
and shipment of materials, tools, equipment, and supplies to ensure projects and field operations are
adequately supported.
The Warehouse Supervisor ensures materials are accurately received, inventoried, safeguarded, and delivered in
accordance with project schedules, operational priorities, and company standards. This role is accountable for
maintaining inventory accuracy, optimizing warehouse organization, coordinating material movement, and
implementing efficient warehouse processes that support productivity and minimize delays.
Working closely with procurement, project management, field leadership, logistics personnel, and vendors, the
Warehouse Supervisor serves as a key operational partner by anticipating material needs, resolving supply
issues, and ensuring timely material availability for construction activities. The position also provides leadership
and development to warehouse personnel while promoting a culture of safety, accountability, customer service,
and continuous improvement.
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for maintaining compliance with company policies, inventory control
procedures, safety requirements, and operational standards while supporting the successful execution of
projects and organizational objectives.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
Tasks may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory control,
staging, and distribution activities.
- Lead, coach, and develop warehouse personnel while promoting accountability, teamwork, and productivity.
- Monitor employee performance and provide training on warehouse procedures, safety requirements, and
company policies.
- Ensure incoming materials and equipment are received, inspected, and verified against purchase orders,
packing slips, and shipping documentation.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and oversee inventory counts, audits, and reconciliation activities.
- Coordinate material staging and delivery schedules to support field operations and project timelines.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies, damaged materials, shortages, or shipping issues and implement
corrective actions.
- Oversee organization and cleanliness of warehouse facilities, laydown yards, storage areas, and material
locations.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and security of tools, equipment, and materials.
- Coordinate material transfers between warehouses, project sites, and storage locations.
- Monitor warehouse productivity and identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency.
- Enforce company safety policies, housekeeping standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain equipment inspection logs and coordinate maintenance for forklifts, vehicles, and warehouse equipment.
- Collaborate with procurement, project management, field leadership, and vendors regarding material availability and delivery schedules.
- Prepare reports related to inventory levels, material usage, warehouse activities, and operational performance.
- Support emergency material requests and changing project priorities as business needs require.
