Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling holes, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using hand tools and power tools such as brushes, rollers, airless sprayers, and spray guns
- Read blueprints and schematics to accurately execute painting plans on residential structures
- Perform surface repairs including plastering, caulking, trim carpentry, stucco application, and restoration work
- Use construction estimating skills to determine materials needed and ensure efficient project completion
- Handle renovation projects involving framing, drywall installation, masonry, concrete finishing, and fixture installation
- Maintain safety standards on construction sites while working with scaffolding, ladders, welding equipment, and other tools
Qualifications
- Proven experience in residential painting with knowledge of commercial and industrial painting practices
- Skilled in using hand tools such as caulking guns, putty knives, brushes, rollers, and power tools including airless paint sprayers
- Strong understanding of color theory to assist clients in selecting appropriate hues and finishes
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings accurately
- Familiarity with construction estimating techniques for materials and time management
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to project scope
- Experience with plastering, restoration work, drywall finishing, masonry, framing carpentry, stucco application, and fixture installation is highly desirable
- Knowledge of safety protocols on construction sites including scaffolding use and proper handling of power tools
