Inverters R Us / Spartan Power is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Cable Assembler / Warehouse Associate to join our growing manufacturing and distribution team.
This position is responsible for manufacturing high-quality battery cables and electrical cable assemblies while supporting warehouse operations including receiving, inventory control, order fulfillment, shipping, and quality assurance.
Employees are assigned a primary work area but are cross-trained to support all areas of the warehouse and manufacturing operation based on business needs. We are looking for an individual who takes pride in quality workmanship, works safely, and enjoys being part of a collaborative team.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Cable Assembly
- Assemble battery cables and custom electrical cable assemblies according to work orders, engineering specifications, and quality standards.
- Operate cable cutting, stripping, crimping, and heat shrink equipment safely and efficiently.
- Set up and operate pneumatic crimpers, pneumatic cable strippers, and pneumatic cable cutters to manufacture cable assemblies accurately and efficiently.
- Use bench crimpers, heat guns, cable cutters, and precision measuring tools to produce high-quality cable assemblies.
- Measure cable lengths accurately to specified tolerances.
- Inspect completed assemblies to ensure quality, accuracy, and workmanship before packaging.
- Package finished cable assemblies while ensuring products are protected and labeled correctly.
- Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of cable assembly equipment and report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns.
Warehouse Operations
- Receive, inspect, unload, and stock incoming inventory and raw materials.
- Pick, verify, package, and ship customer orders accurately.
- Organize inventory and maintain proper product identification and labeling.
- Assist with inventory counts and inventory control activities.
- Support Quality Control inspections and product verification as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment using 5S principles.
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and department work instructions.
- Support other warehouse and manufacturing departments as business demands require.
Equipment Operation
- Safely operate powered industrial equipment after certification, including:
- Forklifts
- Electric pallet jacks
- Manual pallet jacks
- Hand carts
- Operate warehouse and manufacturing equipment safely and responsibly.
Computer & Technical Responsibilities
- Utilize company software to complete production, shipping, receiving, and inventory transactions.
- Print shipping labels, work orders, and production documentation.
- Maintain accurate inventory and production records.
- Support warehouse operations using ERP and inventory management systems.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of six (6) months of warehouse or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to safely lift up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to stand and work on your feet for up to 8 hours per shift.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, reach, twist, and climb step ladders throughout the workday.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Excellent attendance, reliability, and work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in any of the following is highly desirable:
- Warehouse operations
- Manufacturing or production assembly
- Electrical or cable assembly
- Shipping and receiving
- Inventory control
- Forklift operation
- Hazardous Materials (HazMat) shipping certification
- Mechanical assembly
Technical Skills
Preferred experience with:
- Microsoft Office 365
- NetSuite ERP
- Barcode scanners
- Shipping software
- Pneumatic crimpers
- Pneumatic cable strippers
- Pneumatic cable cutters
- Bench crimpers
- Heat guns
- Precision measuring equipment
- Basic hand and power tools
Physical Requirements
This position requires frequent physical activity, including:
- Standing and walking for up to 8 hours per shift
- Frequently lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 75 pounds
- Frequent pushing and pulling of carts and materials
- Repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements
- Frequent bending, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and climbing step ladders
- Safely working around warehouse and manufacturing equipment
