Role Description The Dental Assisting Instructor will teach and mentor students in dental assisting fundamentals, chairside procedures, infection control, radiography concepts, and professional conduct. This part-time, on-site role in Arlington, TX involves delivering lectures, demonstrating clinical skills, supervising hands-on practice, and ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards. The instructor will prepare lesson plans, assessments, and learning materials aligned with program objectives and industry expectations. Responsibilities also include providing constructive feedback, tracking student progress, maintaining accurate records, and supporting a positive, inclusive classroom environment. The instructor may collaborate with other team members to refine curriculum content and support continuous improvement of the program.
Qualifications
- Strong clinical foundation in Dental Care and Dentistry, with current knowledge of procedures, terminology, infection control, and patient safety.
- Hands-on experience in Dental Assisting, including chairside support, instrument handling, and workflow in a dental practice.
- Demonstrated ability in Teaching and Training, including presenting concepts clearly, guiding practice, and assessing learner performance.
- Active or recent certification or licensure as a dental assistant, dental hygienist, or dentist (as required by state regulations).
- Previous teaching, precepting, or mentoring experience in an academic, vocational, or clinical setting is preferred.
- Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills, with the ability to work with diverse adult learners.
- CPR certification (or ability to obtain) and familiarity with OSHA, HIPAA, and related compliance requirements.
- Ability to work on-site in Arlington, TX during scheduled class hours and occasional meetings or training sessions.
