Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Account Manager with a strong background in scientific publications to join our Client Services team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the delivery of publication plans, fostering strong client relationships, and ensuring excellence in project execution across peer-reviewed manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and congress presentations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary day-to-day contact for assigned clients, building and maintaining strong, trusted relationships.
  • Manage the development and delivery of publication plans, ensuring timelines, budgets, and client expectations are met.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including medical writers, editors, and project managers, to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Attend and lead client meetings, providing strategic input on publication activities.
  • Coordinate submission and resubmission processes for manuscripts and congress materials.
  • Ensure all publications adhere to industry guidelines (e.g., GPP, ICMJE) and client-specific SOPs.
  • Monitor project profitability, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
  • Contribute to proposal development and support new business opportunities as needed.

Required Experience & Skills

  • 2–4 years of experience in a medical communications agency or similar, with a focus on scientific publications.
  • Solid understanding of the publication process, including journal and congress submission guidelines.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
  • Comfortable working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with Datavision, PubSTRAT, or similar publication management tools is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Degree in life sciences or a related field; advanced degree (MSc/PhD) is a plus.
  • Proven track record of managing scientific publication projects from planning through execution.
