School Occupational Therapist - Staten Island, New York

In this exciting contract opportunity, youll empower K-8 students by providing crucial occupational therapy services in a vibrant and supportive educational environment. Located near Staten Island, NY, this full-time position covers both Extended School Year (ESY) and regular school year (NSY) programsmaking a lasting difference for young learners throughout the academic calendar.

Your expertise as a school-based OT will support a diverse mix of individual and group sessions. With dedicated time for 16 one-on-one student sessions and 25 group sessions, you'll have the chance to address a variety of student needs while collaborating with teachers and school staff.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Occupational Therapist license in New York State
• Experience working in a K-8 educational setting preferred
• Knowledge of school-based OT best practices and relevant documentation requirements
• Ability to design and implement individualized treatment plans for ESY/NSY programming
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset for working with multidisciplinary teams

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver occupational therapy interventions to support students developmental, academic, and social success
• Conduct assessments and create goal-oriented treatment strategies tailored for both 1:1 and group formats
• Maintain thorough and timely documentation in line with district and state guidelines
• Collaborate with families, educators, and support professionals to continually adapt therapeutic interventions
• Monitor student progress and participate in IEP meetings as required
