Respiratory Therapist – Adult Critical Care (RRT / CRT)

Contract | Night Shift | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required | Holidays Required | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory therapy services to adult critical care patients across cardiovascular and medical-surgical ICUs, step-down, and general acute care floors
- Care for complex patient populations including postoperative cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery patients, heart and lung transplant recipients, and LVAD patients
- Manage patients requiring advanced mechanical circulatory support including ECMO, IABP, and Impella devices
- Treat patients with conditions such as ARDS, septic shock, pulmonary hypertension, decompensated heart failure, and acute myocardial infarction
- Utilize Epic electronic health records system for documentation and charting
- Float as needed to the main hospital adult population, which shares the same policies, equipment, and charting requirements
Required Qualifications
- NBRC RRT certification required (CRT will be considered)
- Active South Carolina Respiratory Care Provider (SC RCP) license must be in hand at time of start
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum of 2 years of adult critical care experience as a Respiratory Therapist
- No first-time travelers accepted for this role
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with ECMO, IABP, Impella, or other mechanical circulatory support devices
- Familiarity with Epic electronic health records system
- Experience in a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma, or teaching hospital environment
