Job Title: Senior Construction Quality Assurance Representative

Work Location: Hendersonville, TN

Salary: Based on experience and will be discussed with manager in interview

Position Summary:

The Senior Construction Quality Assurance Representative plays a critical role in ensuring high standards of construction quality and compliance for the Old Hickory Turbine Generator Rehabilitation Project, a federally funded initiative. This position involves performing detailed inspections of complex construction activities, evaluating contractor performance, and guaranteeing adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of ongoing construction projects and review contractor reports and test results.
  • Utilize advanced technical knowledge to inspect a variety of civil construction activities.
  • Ensure contractor work aligns with construction schedules, specifications, and safety regulations.
  • Evaluate materials and workmanship, working alongside contractor representatives to promote quality and address deficiencies.
  • Review daily quality control reports from contractors, ensuring accurate documentation of quality control operations.
  • Perform regular surveillance to confirm adherence to the USACE 3-phase quality control system.
  • Develop daily Quality Assurance Reports (QAR) post-inspection, highlighting any deficiencies noted.
  • Verify site layout, elevations, and pre-work QC requirements prior to project commencement.
  • Monitor contractor processes for tracking deficiencies and ensuring effective corrective actions.
  • Maintain an organized system for tracking deficiencies, field issues, and requests for information (RFIs).
  • Occasionally attend shop inspections of fabricated items to ensure compliance before delivery.
  • Engage in technical reviews, quality control meetings, and project updates with contractors and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to discussions on Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) and participate in safety assessments.
  • Support reviews of construction progress for payment accuracy.
  • Evaluate and review complex construction submittals.
  • Assess risk management strategies for critical construction tasks.
  • Ensure contractor as-built drawings are accurately maintained throughout the project.
  • Stay informed about EM 385-1-1 (USACE Safety and Health Requirements Manual) and OSHA regulations.
  • Compile and validate daily progress reports for reporting contractor performance.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed to promote project success.

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of fifteen (15) years’ experience in construction quality control or assurance is preferred.
  • Experience with US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) projects is advantageous.
  • Expertise in welding, machining, or industrial construction is beneficial.
  • Proven history of field inspections to assess workmanship quality against contract specifications.
  • Capability to interpret construction plans and review as-built drawings.
  • Experience analyzing contractor quality control reports for accuracy and deficiencies.
  • Familiarity with EM 385-1-1 and OSHA Construction Industry Regulations (29 CFR 1926).
  • OSHA 30 Certification required.
  • Valid Driver's License is necessary.
