Controller/Accountant - Part Time

We are seeking a highly skilled Contract Accountant/Controller to support a manufacturing organization in Colorado Springs. This is a part-time, long-term opportunity ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who thrives in a hands-on, operational finance environment.

This role will play a key part in maintaining financial accuracy, improving reporting processes, and supporting leadership with timely financial insights.

Location: Colorado Springs, CO

Shift/Hours: 5–10 hours per week

Duration: Temp Contract about 20 months

Pay Range: $45–$60/hour

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee month-end close, financial reporting, and balance sheet reconciliation
• Prepare monthly P&L, KPI reporting, and variance analysis
• Manage COGS and WIP accounting, including labor and material cost allocation using
• Maintain and analyze cash flow forecasts, AR/AP, and operating expenses
• Ensure accuracy of tax filings (sales, payroll, federal and state quarterly reporting)
• Audit and optimize QuickBooks structure, entries, and reporting efficiency
• Deliver accurate, timely financial statements (monthly and annual)
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Controller or senior accounting role experience
• Strong manufacturing accounting background (COGS, WIP, job costing required)
• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel
• Proven experience with full-cycle accounting and financial statement preparation
• Strong analytical ability with experience in variance and KPI reporting
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight in a contract environment
