Position Purpose

The Rental Delivery Driver II (RDDII) must hold a CDL‑A license and operate a tractor‑trailer or straight truck to deliver large equipment to DIY and professional customers. The driver provides basic operational training on proper use of the equipment and verifies that it is clean and operational before and after each delivery.

Must reside within the DFW Metroplex area.

Schedule: Mon‑Fri 7am‑4pm.

Key Responsibilities

  • 10% Administrative/Business Duties – Manage all work documentation through company technology. Obtain required signatures, remain current on licensing and safety requirements, and perform duties assigned by management.
  • 20% Deploy Equipment to Store Locations – Assist with new equipment deployment to stores, conduct PDIs, deliver to stores, and train associates. Complete check‑in/check‑out procedures.
  • 10% Maintain Parts Inventory – Maintain accurate parts/fleet inventories through proper documentation and system transfers.
  • 60% Operate Tractor‑Trailer and Straight‑Truck – Operate trailer/flatbed to deliver equipment, load/unload, secure and tie‑down loads, perform local deliveries/pick‑ups, and demonstrate proper operation to customers.

Direct Manager / Direct Reports

  • Reports to the Rental Operations Supervisor or Regional Rental Manager.
  • No direct reports.

Travel Requirements

  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Physical Requirements

  • Requires intermittent periods of physical exertion: walking, standing, stooping, climbing, and lifting, some potentially heavy.

Working Conditions

  • Must work in comfortable environments but also encounter temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Legally permitted to work in the United States.
  • Twenty‑one years of age or older.
  • Class A (Commercial Driver’s License) CDL certification.
  • Valid DOT Physical Examination (Medical Card).
  • Minimum 2 years tractor‑trailer driving experience in the past 5 years.
  • Minimum 1 year flatbed tractor‑trailer experience in the past 5 years.
  • Clean MVR safe driving record.
  • Experience driving delivery trucks, towing tandem axle utility trailers and towable construction equipment in congested city zones.
  • Knowledge of local major/minor roadways and navigation skills.
  • Understanding of load securement, tie‑downs, and transportation safety.
  • Knowledge of Motor Carrier Safety regulations/DOT guidelines.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Works well with diverse personalities and all levels of associates.
  • Handheld technology proficiency (smartphone, laptop, tablet).
  • Can operate in extreme outdoor conditions.
  • Adapts to weather, traffic, and unforeseen circumstances.
  • Responds to customer inquiries or complaints and exceeds expectations.
