Gardener

Position Summary

The Landscaping Technician/Gardener is responsible for managing all aspects of resort landscape operations at a luxury, grand scale resort and reports to the Director of Landscaping. Responsibilities include the execution of landscape improvements, enhancements, and day‑to‑day maintenance for over 140 acres of K.I.G.R. property, which features a Forbes Five‑Star, AAA Five‑Diamond oceanfront hotel, five golf course clubhouses, a 22‑court tennis facility, a public park, four pool complexes, recreation fields and amenities, retail and common areas, maintenance facilities buildings, and beach access boardwalks.

The position functions onsite between 6:30 am and 3:00 pm Monday‑Friday, with occasional work on Saturdays (6 am–2:30 pm during spring, summer, and fall). Experience in related fields may result in higher pay compensation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED (minimum).
• Minimum of six months working in a related field.
• Held a full‑time position for six months or more within one position.
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good to excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Must pass a mandatory background check.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and own transportation to and from the resort.
• Must be at least eighteen years old.

Responsibilities

• Policing grounds for trash, litter, and debris.
• Enhancement bed maintenance and installation.
• Mowing.
• Chemical application.
• Irrigation maintenance.
• Capable of learning landscape maintenance operations.
• Uphold the resort’s core values, policies, and procedures.
• Complete all other duties as assigned.

Essential

Physical Requirements

• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. over short‑to‑medium distances.
• Stand for the entirety of the shift while bending, stretching, and lifting.
• Work in all‑weather conditions, including light rain or extreme heat.
• Operate on site due to daily job requirements.
