Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for our Baltimore team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in emergency medical services, including critical care and hospital experience, with a focus on patient assessment, airway management, and emergency response. This role involves providing urgent pre-hospital care, ensuring patient safety during transport, and supporting our mission to deliver exceptional emergency medical services in high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to emergency calls, providing immediate medical attention to patients in various settings.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews.
  • Manage airway patency using appropriate techniques and devices; administer oxygen therapy and basic life support measures.
  • Perform critical care transport for patients requiring advanced medical interventions from hospitals or trauma centers.
  • Administer medications via injection or other routes as authorized; monitor patient responses closely.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care reports, vital signs, and treatment provided during transport.
  • Operate emergency vehicles safely while adhering to traffic laws and company policies; perform heavy lifting as needed during patient handling.
  • Apply aseptic techniques and maintain sterile environments when necessary; utilize medical terminology effectively in communication.

Experience

Candidates should demonstrate prior experience in emergency medicine or urgent care settings, with specific expertise in critical care transport and hospital environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers. Critical care experience, including airway management, medication administration, venipuncture, and physical examinations, is essential. Familiarity with physiology, anatomy knowledge, DME (durable medical equipment), triage procedures, and emergency room protocols will be highly valued. Applicants must possess EMT certification with current Basic Life Support (BLS) credentials; previous experience in heavy lifting and driving emergency vehicles is required. A strong understanding of medical terminology and patient assessment techniques is crucial for success in this role.
