Position Status: PRN
Position Description: The surgical technologist is an unlicensed individual who performs routine and delegated duties according to the standards of practice of hospital and unit policies. They function under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. They assist with delegated patient care according to their level of education, training, and demonstrated competency. They serve primarily as a scrub person, assist the Registered Nurse in circulating duites, and perform activities related tosterile processing, material management, and environmental controls.
Position Requirements: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization. Graduated from an Accredited School of Surgical Technology. Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS).
Preferred Requirements: One year of surgical technician experience preferred.
