Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated 06 Journeyman Limited Energy Electrician with Audio/Visual systems experience to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, commissioning, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage electrical systems, including Performance Sound Systems, Classroom A/V systems, and IP Intercom / Clock systems, across various construction and renovation projects. We also install commercial Fire Alarm and Intrusion Alarm systems.
We are a NECA contractor utilizing IBEW Local 76 Electricians, so if you are not currently in the Union, you would be required to join.
Duties
- Install, test, and troubleshoot low voltage electrical systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to accurately execute installation plans.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, multimeters such as ohmmeters, and other electrical testing devices to ensure system integrity.
- Collaborate with project teams during renovation and construction phases to coordinate electrical work with other trades.
- Maintain compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards, local electrical codes, and safety protocols during all project phases.
Qualifications
- Valid Washington State Journeyman 06 Limited Energy Electrician license.
- AVIXA CTS-I certification.
- Experience working as a 06 electrician on construction sites or renovation projects.
- Strong knowledge of standards and blueprint interpretation.
- Hands-on experience with low voltage wiring, audio/visual systems installation, and troubleshooting complex integrated systems.
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other electrical testing equipment.
- Experience with Sound System Rack building.
- Experience with DSP programming. (Extron, Q-Sys, Symetrix, BiAmp)
- Experience with DANTE networked audio.
- Experience with Network Switches. (Netgear, Cisco, Aruba)
- Experience with HDBase-T.
- Experience with AV over IP. (Visionary Solutions, others)
- Experience with RS-232, TCP, UDP, and CEC Control.
- Experience with Projector Installation.
- Experience with Projection Screen Installation.
- Experience with Projector Scissor Lift Installation.
- Experience with Large Monitor Installation.
- Experience with Loudspeaker Installation. (Single cabinet, subwoofers, and line arrays)
