Experienced Wire EDM Programmer / Machinist

Ultimate Tool & Die Inc. is a precision machine shop located in Rocky Top, Tennessee, specializing in complex, close-tolerance machining for demanding industries. We are looking for an experienced Wire EDM Programmer / Machinist to join our team.

This is not an entry-level or machine operator position. We are seeking a skilled machinist who can independently program, set up, operate, inspect, and complete Wire EDM jobs from start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate Wire EDM machines.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.
• Develop efficient cutting strategies for precision components.
• Fixture, align, and verify workpieces for maximum accuracy.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment.
• Troubleshoot programming, setup, and machine issues.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and keep equipment operating at peak performance.
• Work closely with engineering and machining departments to produce high-quality precision components.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Wire EDM experience preferred.
• Ability to independently program, set up, and run Wire EDM jobs.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software (Esprit experience is a plus).
• Strong understanding of precision machining, blueprint reading, and GD&T.
• Ability to inspect your own work and consistently hold close tolerances.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and pride in producing quality work.

Compensation is competitive and based on experience, programming ability, machining knowledge, and the ability to independently complete precision Wire EDM work.
