The SPEAK Center for Language and Learning is a multidisciplinary pediatric therapy practice dedicated to helping children with developmental disabilities build independence, confidence, and meaningful participation in daily life. Our collaborative team provides compassionate, evidence-based care to children and families across Arizona.

Position Overview

The Occupational Therapist will provide high-quality occupational therapy services to children with developmental disabilities in home health and/or clinic-based settings. This role focuses on helping children improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care abilities, play skills, and functional independence.

The ideal candidate is motivated, compassionate, organized, and passionate about supporting children and families through individualized, family-centered care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations to assess motor skills, sensory processing, functional abilities, self-care skills, and developmental needs.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on each child's strengths, needs, and family goals.
  • Provide direct therapy services using evidence-based strategies, therapeutic activities, adaptive equipment, and sensory-based interventions as appropriate.
  • Support children in improving fine motor skills, sensory integration, self-care tasks, play skills, coordination, and participation in daily routines.
  • Educate and coach families and caregivers on strategies to support progress at home and in the community.
  • Monitor progress through ongoing assessment and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Complete documentation, treatment notes, progress reports, and evaluations accurately and on time.
  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, and members of the multidisciplinary team to support each child's care plan.
  • Participate in team meetings, case discussions, trainings, and collaborative planning as needed.
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for all clients.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Valid Arizona Occupational Therapist license.
  • Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • CPR, First Aid, and Article 9 training, or willingness to complete required training.
  • Professional liability insurance, as applicable.
  • Pediatric experience preferred.
  • Experience working with children with developmental disabilities is a plus.
  • Strong clinical skills in assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic intervention.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly motivated, dependable, and able to work independently.
  • Compassionate, family-centered approach to care.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
