Job Title: Journeymen Carpenter Needed - $30-35/hr.
Job Description
This role focuses on constructing and modifying temporary office spaces, conference rooms, and project "war rooms" within an active convention center construction project. You will install drywall, build wood and metal stud framing, and complete finishing work to create safe, functional, and professional office environments for project teams working on a large-scale commercial development.
Responsibilities
- Lay out and construct temporary office spaces, meeting rooms, and project war rooms inside the convention center.
- Measure, cut, and install metal stud framing systems for walls and partitions.
- Install drywall panels on walls and ceilings, ensuring proper alignment and secure fastening.
- Tape, mud, sand, and finish drywall surfaces to a smooth, paint-ready condition.
- Install doors, drywall trim, corner bead, and other finish components as required.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and project layouts to ensure accurate construction and framing.
- Modify and adjust existing temporary structures to accommodate changing project needs and layouts.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the project.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, lifts, and other construction equipment in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with superintendents, project managers, and other trades to meet project schedules and deadlines.
- Follow all OSHA and site-specific safety requirements and report any unsafe conditions promptly.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull construction materials as needed to support daily tasks.
- Stand, kneel, bend, crouch, climb, and work at heights on ladders or lifts throughout the workday.
Essential Skills
- At least 2+ years of commercial drywall or carpentry experience.
- Demonstrated experience with metal stud framing and drywall installation in commercial environments.
- Ability to read tape measures accurately and perform basic construction math.
- Proficiency using standard hand and power tools commonly used in carpentry and drywall work.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work safely on ladders or lifts.
- Reliable transportation and consistent, dependable attendance.
- Ability to work effectively in an active construction environment, both indoors and outdoors.
- Capability to perform physical tasks including lifting, carrying, standing, kneeling, bending, crouching, and climbing throughout the workday.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience installing drywall framing using both wood and metal stud systems.
- Commercial carpentry experience, including doors, frames, and hardware, is a plus.
- Experience working on large commercial projects such as convention centers, stadiums, airports, or hospitals.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Experience building temporary office trailers, field offices, or project management spaces.
- Strong commitment to quality workmanship, safety practices, and productivity.
- Ability to work independently from drawings or direction and complete tasks with minimal supervision.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.12 - $35.12/hr.
