Payroll Specialist Smith Corporation Business Unit: CORPORATE Workplace Setting: Smith is a global leader applying innovative technologies and energy-efficient solutions to products manufactured and marketed worldwide. The Payroll Specialist will coordinate with various locations and departments to process full-cycle payroll for company employees and retirees. Additionally, the PR Specialist will serve as a resource and training partner for the support of the Time & Attendance system. The incumbent will work in compliance with internal policies as well as Federal and State laws and regulations. Prepare and process payroll for U.Support and work closely with other payroll processors. Validate and submit periodic payroll tax reporting for employees and retirees. Assist with quarterly tax filing for U. S. business units. Participate in testing and completing payroll system updates. Perform testing for system updates related to state and federal tax updates. Provide support to corporate and site level business units, including HR, Benefits, Finance, Operations, etc. Handle payroll customer service calls for assigned payroll group. Prepare reports illustrating payroll expenditures, including tax payments and benefit plan disbursements. Assist in the development, testing, and training of payroll platform updates and enhancements. Provide user support and training for all new and existing payroll modules. 3+ years experience working with HRIS/Payroll systems such as Success Factors, Workday, ADP, UKG. Expert knowledge of FLSA, DOL and other federal and state payroll regulations. Advanced training and customer support skills. Previous successful experience balancing and processing full cycle payroll. Payroll tax regulation and administration advanced knowledge. Proficient in use of MS Office, especially MS Excel, Word, and Outlook. Maturity and discretion in handling highly confidential information. Education Associate Degree in Accounting or Related Field.
