Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Phlebotomist, you will play a vital role in determining patient diagnoses and treatment by expertly performing blood collection and specimen processing, ensuring the highest level of patient care.
Each day, you will obtain and process blood specimens via capillary or venipuncture, ensuring integrity, proper disposal, and timely distribution to testing areas with special instructions, while performing clerical duties and prioritizing patient comfort.
To be successful, you will possess precise clinical skills for blood collection and specimen handling, along with a genuine passion for helping others, exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and a talent for making patients feel comfortable during blood work, while adhering to lab collection turnaround times.
Practice positive patient identification at all times, in all job functions.
Practice human kindness and courtesy with all patient and co‑worker interactions; establish and maintain good communication within the department and with other hospital departments.
Comply with isolation and hand sanitization procedures.
Follow blood collection procedures, performing venous and capillary punctures on all age groups of inpatient and outpatient populations; utilize appropriate collection techniques to obtain quality samples and adhere to appropriate volume requirements.
Perform Blood Bank collections; follow written collection and Blood Bank banding procedures; demonstrate accuracy and good penmanship; adhere to specimen requirements.
Maintain order and cleanliness of phlebotomy trays, stations, and storage rooms.
Job Requirements High School Graduate or GED
Basic Life Support – CPR, within 90 days
Preferred 3 months phlebotomy experience in an acute care facility
Phlebotomy Technician certification

Pay Range $16.06 – $22.69 per hour
