Trailer Diesel Mechanics are responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and equipment such as trucks, buses, and heavy machinery. They ensure all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and software
  • Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication
  • Repair or replace engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, and hydraulic components
  • Conduct inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety and regulatory standards
  • Troubleshoot fuel, exhaust, and emissions systems
  • Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation
  • Test drive vehicles to verify repairs and performance
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines and heavy equipment systems
  • Ability to use diagnostic equipment and hand/power tools
  • Understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read technical manuals and schematics
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy components
  • High school diploma or GED (technical certification preferred)
  • ASE certification (a plus)

Pay: $28.00 - $34.00 per hour
