Staff Accountant

We are looking for a hands-on, detail-driven Accountant to take full ownership of accounting operations within a growing contract manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for managing all financial activities from daily transactions through financial reporting, with a strong focus on cost accounting and inventory.

This is a high-responsibility, self-managed role suited for someone who is practical, proactive, and comfortable operating independently.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and oversee all financial records in QuickBooks
• Execute full-cycle accounting: journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger management
• Oversee accounts payable, receivable, and vendor disbursements
• Manage inventory accounting, cost tracking, and job costing processes
• Support purchasing activities, vendor setup, and cost evaluation
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including P&L statements
• Administer or supervise payroll processing and related accounting functions
• Handle sales tax filings and ensure regulatory compliance
• Assist with audits and maintain supporting documentation
• Ensure accuracy, organization, and timeliness across all accounting functions

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks
• Demonstrated experience with cost accounting, inventory, and job costing
• Experience with sales tax compliance and filings
• Background in purchasing/vendor accounting preferred
• Exposure to payroll, insurance, or HR-related accounting is a plus
• Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and take full ownership of responsibilities
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
