Are you a relationship-driven professional with a passion for customer success, strategic account management, and operational excellence? Our client, a leading OEM manufacturer, is seeking a Senior Customer Account Manager to serve as the primary liaison for key customer accounts while driving customer satisfaction, business growth, and cross-functional collaboration.

Position Overview

The Senior Customer Account Manager will manage a portfolio of top-tier OEM customers, serving as the voice of the customer internally while ensuring customers receive exceptional service and support. This individual will build trusted relationships, forecast customer demand, coordinate product transitions, and collaborate across engineering, production, purchasing, and quality teams to deliver solutions that meet customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned strategic customer accounts.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships while expanding connections throughout customer organizations.
  • Conduct regular business reviews and touch-base meetings to understand customer goals, products, and future needs.
  • Own customer demand forecasting and support the internal S&OP process.
  • Manage product lifecycles, including new products, product changes, end-of-life planning, and obsolescence management.
  • Partner with internal Engineering, Production, Purchasing, and Quality teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Analyze customer scorecards, identify performance gaps, facilitate root cause analysis, and drive corrective action plans.
  • Lead formal problem-resolution activities from containment through permanent corrective action.
  • Analyze pricing and recommend adjustments when appropriate.
  • Resolve issues related to payment terms, customer requests, and business exceptions.
  • Identify SKU rationalization and obsolescence opportunities.
  • Proactively address scheduling challenges and negotiate solutions with customers.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing facilities and customers to manage seasonal volume fluctuations.
  • Mentor and support Account Managers and Customer Service Representatives.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of account management, customer service, or customer-facing experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with OEM customers.
  • Strong relationship-building and customer management skills.
  • Experience with EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) processes.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience working within ERP systems, preferably XA ERP or similar AS400-based platforms.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting demand planning and forecasting activities.
  • Knowledge of S&OP processes.
  • Experience managing product transitions, pricing analysis, and supply chain coordination.
