Position Title: Laboratory Technician /Certified Phlebotomist- - Contract with the potential to go perm

Hours: Monday-Thursday 7:45am-4:30pm and Friday 7:45am

Pay: $20-$22/hour

Position Summary

We are seeking a Laboratory Technician / Phlebotomist to join our laboratory team. The ideal candidate will have experience performing venipuncture, specimen processing, and laboratory testing in both microbiology (micro) and general laboratory settings. This individual will be responsible for collecting, processing, analyzing, and reporting specimens

Essential ResponsibilitiesPhlebotomy

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections on patients of all ages.
  • Accurately identify patients and label specimens according to laboratory protocols.
  • Ensure proper handling, transportation, and storage of specimens.
  • Maintain patient comfort and professionalism during specimen collection.

Laboratory Bench Testing

  • Perform routine laboratory testing and analysis according to established procedures.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Review and verify test results for accuracy and completeness.
  • Follow quality control and quality assurance procedures.
  • Document testing activities and maintain accurate records.

Microbiology

  • Receive and process microbiology specimens.
  • Prepare and inoculate cultures according to laboratory protocols.

QualificationsRequired

  • Current Phlebotomy Certification (CPT, PBT-ASCP, NHA, or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 1 year of laboratory experience.
  • Experience with microbiology specimen processing and bench testing.

Preferred.

  • Experience working in a physician office laboratory.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
