Position: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Per Diem All shifts including weekends

CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT SUMMARY OF THE JOB

The Nursing Assistant is responsible for providing non-pofessional, routine daily nursing care in accordance with established‑nursing policies and procedures. He/she is also responsible for providing a positive caririg and homelike environment for the residents.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Certified Nursing Assistant in good standing and currently, licensed in the state of Florida.
  • Completion of required training courses.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Neat and professional in appearance.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE,

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Demonstrates a positive team spirit and a willingness to provide the highest level of patient care.
  • Knowledge and adherence to Federal, state and local standards and company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to move throughout work area, bend, reach, lift, grasp, push, pull, distinguish smells and temperatures, see, hear and respond to residents.
  • Ability to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and at times hostile people within the work place.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and courteous manner.
  • Ability to speak, read and write in the English language.
  • Ability to problem solve within the scope of role.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

  • Ensures that residents are treated with dignity, kindness and respect, maintains residents privacy and confidentiality and adheres to residents bill of rights at all times.
  • Assists residents with daily bth functions.
  • Assists residents with daily dental and mouth care.
  • Assists residents with daily dressing and undressing as necessary and maintains residents clean and dry.
  • Maintains residents neatly groomed and clean including shaving facial/body hair, cutting nails, and combing hair.
  • Maintains residents in proper and comfortable position in chairs, beds, bathtubs, etc. as needed.
  • Assists residents with bowel and bladder functions and maintains incontinent residents clean and dcy.
  • Provies daily perineal care, catheter care, prepares and gives enemas, qonduc diabetes tests arid collects specimens as needed.
  • Provides alcohol rubs and back massages as directed.
  • Measures and records residents temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, food and fluid intake and bowel movements.
  • Observes and reports any redness, bruises, skin breakdown or any other changes in residents condition.
  • Reports all accidents or incidents involving the residents to supervisor immediately.
  • Chages bed linens, makes the beds and provides extra sheets and blankets on the beds as needed.
  • Maintains residents rooms as required with name tag, fresh water, toiletries, towels and clothes/personal belonging properly marked.
  • Prepares residents for meals, assists with food distribution and jts with feeding as needed.
  • Prepares residents for any medical tests, activities and social functions.
  • Transports residents from place to place by wheelchair, bed or assists in ambulation as needed.
  • Participates in reality orientation daily with residents.
  • Respond to residents call buttons as needed.
  • Participates in inservice education and training as needed.
  • Uses protective clothing as needed.
  • Ensures that established precautionary procedures are followed at all times.
  • Ensures that a clean, orderly, sanitary and safe environment for residents is maintained at all times.
  • Reports an unsafe/hazardous conditions or defective equipment to supervisor immediately.
  • Reports all incidents/accidents to supervisor immediately and in the shift in which they occur.
  • Completes fonns, reports, studies and special projects as directed by supervisor.
  • Communicates with family and residents as needed regarding the residents care, changes in condition, etc.#J-18808-Ljbffr
