The Plum Borough School District is accepting applications for an Anticipated Elementary Teacher (Full-Time) position. Primary Responsibilities
- Design and deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction that promotes high levels of academic achievement and student engagement.
- Create a classroom culture characterized by respect, belonging, curiosity, perseverance, and a growth mindset.
- Differentiate instruction using evidence-based practices to address the diverse academic, social, emotional, and developmental needs of all learners.
- Establish ambitious learning goals and utilize assessment data to inform instruction, provide timely feedback, and accelerate student growth.
- Create learning experiences that develop critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, creativity, collaboration, and responsible decision-making skills.
- Foster literacy, numeracy, and foundational learning skills while encouraging students to become independent and confident learners.
- Implement district curriculum with fidelity while employing innovative instructional strategies that enhance student achievement.
- Integrate educational technology purposefully to support learning, communication, and student success.
- Collaborate effectively with grade-level teams, specialists, interventionists, counselors, special educators, administrators, and support staff to improve student outcomes.
- Build strong partnerships with families through proactive communication, collaboration, and ongoing engagement in the educational process.
- Support the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development of all students through responsive classroom practices and relationship-centered instruction.
- Maintain accurate records and complete all required documentation in accordance with district expectations and state regulations.
- Participate in professional learning opportunities, faculty meetings, district initiatives, and school activities that contribute to continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Pennsylvania PK-4 Certification or Elementary K-6 Certification (required).
- Demonstrated knowledge of child development, elementary curriculum, instructional design, and assessment practices.
- Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and ensuring success for all learners.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional certification(s), including but not limited to Special Education PK-12, English as a Second Language (ESL) Program Specialist, Reading Specialist PK-12, or other credentials that support diverse learners.
- Experience implementing evidence-based instructional practices, differentiated learning strategies, and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).
- Knowledge of inclusive educational practices and experience collaborating with special education teachers, interventionists, related service providers, and support personnel.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze student achievement data and use results to drive instructional decision-making.
- Evidence of instructional leadership, professional initiative, and a commitment to continuous growth and improvement.
