Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the efficient movement of goods through accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory management processes. Your expertise will ensure seamless warehouse operations, compliance with trade regulations, and timely order fulfillment. Responsibilities

• Coordinate the receipt of incoming shipments by verifying quantities, inspecting for damages, and accurately logging items into the warehouse management system (WMS) using RF scanners and ERP systems such as AS400.
• Prepare outgoing shipments by selecting, packing, and labeling products according to customer specifications and shipping standards.
• Operate forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and order pickers safely to load and unload trucks, move stock within the warehouse, and organize inventory efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and trade documentation requirements for cross-border shipments.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels through regular stock counts, updating records in the warehouse distribution system to support order picking and stocking activities.
• Collaborate with warehouse staff to optimize order fulfillment processes using MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems for timely dispatches.
• Conduct safety inspections of equipment and work areas while adhering to shipping & receiving protocols to promote a safe working environment.
• Assist in packaging products securely for shipment, ensuring protection during transit while minimizing damage or delays.
• Support e-commerce order processing by efficiently picking, packing, and preparing parcels for delivery.
• Record all inbound and outbound transactions meticulously in logs and reports, ensuring traceability and accountability.

Experience

• Proven warehouse experience with a strong understanding of warehouse distribution operations.
• Hands-on experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and RF scanners is essential.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms like AS400 or similar, and inventory control software such as MRP or similar tools.
• Knowledge of shipping logistics including domestic and international trade compliance regulations.
• Experience in order fulfillment processes including picking & packing, order picking, loading & unloading goods.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for inventory counts and shipment documentation.
• Prior exposure to e-commerce fulfillment environments is preferred but not required.
