Clear Credential: $79,500/year - $100,700/year

Preliminary Credential: $68,900/year

Intern Credential: $66,144/year

How You Will Make an Impact

The STEM Teacher serves as the primary site-based leader for the implementation of the Education Technology Plan. This role is a hybrid instructional coach and student mentor, responsible for building staff capacity in digital tools while leading high-impact student programs in Robotics, Esports, and STEM. The teacher carries a small case load and ensures that technology integration aligns with the mission, vision, and "non-negotiables" of the Independent Study model. This position involves collaboration with other instructional staff and school personnel and reports to the Principal or their designee.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Support and lead the rollout of the Education Technology Plan in alignment with site goals and regional initiatives and non-negotiables.
  • Practice detailed record keeping and reporting in support of student achievement and continuous program improvements.
  • Analyze engagement data within our digital systems to identify trends and coordinate interventions to ensure student retention and success.
  • Facilitate student-led portfolio showcases to maintain a program of career preparation and STEM-focused workshops.
  • Conduct student workshops and lead daily sessions for students in digital skills, robotics, esports, and other STEM-related fields.
  • Facilitate STEM clubs and activities such as the Robotics Team, Engineering Team, or others as assigned.
  • Transport and supervise students at club activities, such as Robotics Competitions, which may be outside of normal school days and hours.
  • Attend STEM county or statewide events as assigned.
  • Guide students through project-based learning and provide it through authentic and transformative learning experiences.
  • Instruct and monitor student progress in the use of online learning materials and technology.
  • Carefully observe, review and evaluate student homework and tests to assess and monitor progress.
  • Provide students with meaningful feedback to enhance learning and improve achievement.
  • Engage students in academic conversations that elicit critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and communication.
  • Develop, review and regularly update personalized academic plans based on students’ transcripts, assessment data, career pathway planning (CTE), post-secondary goals, and progress towards those goals.
  • Grade course homework, projects, and tests.
  • Oversee the site’s "Innovation Lab" or STEM equipment, ensuring hardware is optimized for both staff and student use.
  • Provide 1-on-1 and small-group coaching to staff to build capacity for meaningful technology integration to close the feedback loop (Google Workspace, Kami, AI Tools).
  • Design and deliver high-quality professional learning experiences for educators both in-person and virtually.
  • Engage in ongoing professional learning and personal growth to improve instructional strategies and practices.
  • Maintain industry recognized certificates and credentials as appropriate and attend related trainings as directed.
  • Collaborate with core teachers and other school staff for student success in attendance and achievement.
  • Practice effective classroom management.
  • Attend and participate in department and school staff meetings.
  • Attend graduation ceremonies.
  • Participate, as assigned by the academic leader, in all state and school mandated testing.
  • Attend assigned professional development activities.
  • Interact with all school personnel in a respectful and courteous manner.
  • Build a relationship with the student like that of a customer or client.
