Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will perform a variety of laboratory procedures and specimen collections to support diagnostic testing, clinical trials, and research initiatives. Responsibilities

  • Collect, process, and prepare specimens such as blood samples, tissues, and other biological materials using aseptic techniques and proper laboratory procedures.
  • Perform laboratory tests including ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay), PCR (polymerase chain reaction), flow cytometry, immunoassays, RNA extraction, DNA isolation, and blood banking techniques.
  • Manage laboratory data accurately using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and ensure proper documentation of all procedures and results.
  • Conduct routine laboratory maintenance, calibration of equipment, and quality control checks to ensure optimal performance.
  • Assist with clinical trial sample handling, specimen processing, and data analysis to support research studies.
  • Follow strict safety protocols related to specimen collection, processing, and handling of hazardous materials while maintaining an aseptic environment.
  • Support laboratory management tasks including inventory control, supply ordering, and adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals on patient-related procedures such as venipuncture, blood sampling, vital signs measurement, and phlebotomy.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and hospital procedures relevant to laboratory operations.

Skills

  • Extensive experience with clinical laboratory techniques including ELISA, PCR, flow cytometry, immunoassays, RNA extraction, DNA isolation, and blood banking.
  • Strong data management skills with proficiency in Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and data analysis tools.
  • Proven ability to perform specimen collection/processing accurately using venipuncture and phlebotomy techniques.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety standards including aseptic technique and handling of biological specimens.
  • Familiarity with hospital environments and clinical laboratory workflows involving vital signs measurement and blood sampling procedures.
  • Excellent understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology concepts related to blood banking and specimen processing.
  • Ability to operate complex laboratory equipment such as centrifuges, analyzers for ELISA/PCR/flow cytometry assays while maintaining calibration accuracy.
