Dishwasher / Steward
Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour
Schedule: 6:00 AM-12:00 PM
Location: Atlanta, GA 30339 (Near Truist Park)
Focus People is hiring a reliable Dishwasher / Steward to support kitchen and culinary operations at a full-service hotel property in the Truist Park area.
This role is responsible for keeping dishes, kitchen equipment, work areas, and dishwashing areas clean, sanitized, organized, and ready for use. The ideal candidate is dependable, hardworking, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Prior dishwasher, stewarding, kitchen, restaurant, hotel, or food service experience is preferred, but not required. On-the-job training is provided for candidates with the right attitude, reliability, and work ethic.
Key Responsibilities
•
Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
•
Operate industrial dishwashing machines safely and properly.
•
Monitor dish machine water temperature to help ensure a sanitary wash cycle.
•
Keep the dish room clean, organized, and stocked.
•
Restock clean dishes, utensils, and supplies in designated areas for kitchen and service staff.
•
Maintain cleanliness of dish area, floors, trash receptacles, kitchen stations, and related work areas.
•
Remove trash, recycling, and food waste and place items in designated containers.
•
Haul trash and garbage to the dumpster as needed.
•
Handle tableware carefully to help prevent breakage and loss.
•
Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or with a hand truck.
•
Assist with cleaning kitchen equipment, workstations, food preparation areas, and production areas.
•
Support kitchen staff with basic prep or cleaning tasks as requested.
•
Keep dishwashing equipment clean and report any functional or mechanical problems immediately.
•
Follow all health, safety, sanitation, food handling, and chemical handling procedures.
•
Attend required meetings and training as requested.
•
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
•
Prior dishwasher, stewarding, kitchen, restaurant, hotel, or food service experience preferred, but not required.
•
Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
•
Ability to handle repetitive tasks efficiently.
•
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
•
Good physical stamina.
•
Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
•
Ability to communicate professionally with supervisors, kitchen staff, team members, and vendors.
•
Ability to follow hotel policies, safety rules, sanitation standards, and workplace procedures.
•
High school education and/or relevant training preferred, but not required.
•
Additional language ability is a plus.
•
CPR and First Aid training preferred, but not required.
Work Environment
This role is performed in a busy kitchen environment. Candidates should be comfortable with:
•
Hot, humid, and often noisy working conditions.
•
Long periods of standing, bending, reaching, and lifting.
•
Exposure to water, steam, cleaning chemicals, and kitchen equipment.
•
Repetitive dishwashing, cleaning, organizing, and stocking tasks.
•
Fast-paced work during meal periods, events, and service times.
Physical Requirements
•
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
•
Ability to bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and use manual dexterity during the workday.
•
Ability to safely lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds.
•
Ability to transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
•
Ability to work safely around dish machines, kitchen equipment, wet floors, water, steam, and cleaning chemicals.
•
Must immediately report unsafe conditions, injuries, accidents, equipment issues, or hazards to the appropriate supervisor.
Compliance and Screening

•
