Co. is located at Findlay Market in the historic Over-the-Rhine neighborhood in Cincinnati, Ohio. We specialize in hands‑on cooking classes taught by professional chefs, private events, catering, and entertaining corporate and social occasions. Our classes are fun and interactive, often featuring refreshments like beer and wine and music to create a party atmosphere.

What do Culinary Assistants do at Tablespoon? As a Culinary Assistant you work with Instructors to ensure our classes and events run smoothly and efficiently. This customer‑facing role involves greeting guests, offering welcome beverages, helping with ingredients, and facilitating a fun, interactive learning environment.

On an average day you arrive before class to set up, greet guests at the door, show them to their seats, provide beverages, and assist throughout class. You also help clean up, break down the kitchen, and perform dishes after each session.

Prior culinary experience is not required, though a love of food and cooking is.

Essential Functions Set up for classes and events (equipment, ingredients, station setup)

Assist guests during arrival to class

Help Instructor facilitate class

Create a fun and inviting atmosphere where all guests feel welcome and have fun

Assist guests with beverages, ingredients, and cooking assistance during class

Interact with guests and build a personal connection

Clean up, break down kitchen, and do dishes after the class or event

Job Requirements Love of food and cooking

Hospitality or restaurant experience preferred but not required

Comfortable in group environments

Comfortable using technology such as email, Google Drive, Slack, and various apps

Flexible schedule with night and weekend availability

Up‑to‑date with food and beverage trends and best practices

Arrive on time and ready for all shifts

Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation procedures

Guest‑oriented and service‑minded

Drive to provide exceptional customer service

Professional communication with guests and team

Ability to spot and resolve problems quickly, adapt to change, and work with a team

Excellent verbal and written communication

Physical Requirements Bending, stooping, walking, and standing for long periods

Safely lift and move up to 50 pounds

Ability to use stairs multiple times per day (storage in basement)

Availability 7‑14 hours per week (1‑2 shifts)

Shifts typically from 3:30 pm‑9:30 pm

Evenings and weekends required
