Position: CNC Swiss Turn Machinist

Location: Hicksville, NY

Company/Industry: Precision manufacturing company

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 1st shift

Salary: $28-34/hr depending on experience, with flexibility for the right candidate

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Swiss Turn machines to produce precision parts from bar stock.
• Install and preset tooling, guide bushings, and collets; synchronize main and sub?spindles.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and machining sequences.
• Perform multi?axis operations including turning, milling, drilling, and threading with live tooling.
• Monitor machine performance and adjust offsets for accuracy during long production runs.
• Inspect small, tight?tolerance parts using micrometers, comparators, and vision systems.
• Troubleshoot issues related to chip control, tool wear, vibration, and machine alarms.
• Collaborate with engineering/programming teams to improve cycle times and machining efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
• 2-5+ years of CNC Swiss Turn setup and operation experience.
• Strong knowledge of sliding?headstock machines, guide bushings, and dual?path controls.
• Proficient with precision measuring tools and GD&T.
• Experience machining stainless steel, titanium, brass, and high?temp alloys.

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $28.00 - $34.00
