Airline Flight Dispatcher Authorize, regulate and control airline flights according to government regulations and company policies to expedite and ensure the safety of each flight.

Prepare dispatch releases for domestic, flag and supplemental operations
Analyze and evaluate meteorological information to determine potential hazards to safety of flight
Monitor weather conditions, aircraft position reports, and aeronautical navigation charts to evaluate flight progress
Record departure and arrival times of flights and keep flight information systems updated
Provide weather information to flight crews and continuously monitor for changes. Update the flight crew of significant changes to weather, field conditions or air traffic concerns and make recommendations for changes to the original plan, as needed, in the interest of safety
Coordinate diversions with station operations to ensure the best possible passenger experience
Communicate all non-routine operations and complete appropriate forms and reports
Initiate emergency procedures and notifications when necessary
Coordinate with all stakeholders for any unscheduled operation of aircraft due to weather, airport conditions, emergency situations, etc.
Provide assistance with on-the-job training for new-hire dispatchers as directed

Education and/or experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Possess a valid aircraft dispatcher certificate
Basic skills operating computers and software
Preferred education and/or experience
Bachelor's degree
Previous experience in dispatching or other relevant airline experience
Excellent communications and customer service skills
Regulatory
Must successfully pass an FAA required 10-year work history review and criminal background and fingerprint checks
Possess and maintain a valid US or foreign passport
Authorized by law to work in the United States, and able to travel freely in and out of the United States, without restrictions
Must be able to submit to and pass FAA and company mandated random drug and alcohol tests
Must be 23 years of age or older
Ability to read, analyze, interpret and understand technical procedures and governmental regulations, sometimes quickly, and under stressful or emergency situations. Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, crew, air traffic control, and internal associates. Able to speak and be understood in English in person, on the phone and over a radio headset.
Make day-to-day decisions used to support strategic and economic direction. Able to process information quickly and react in a positive manner during unexpected and/or challenging situations. Capable of controlling personal and emotional responses during periods of high levels of stress.

Able to work nights, evenings, weekends and holidays to support 24-hour operations
Permanent job location will be located in Carmel, Indiana. However, there will be an initial, temporary duty requirement in Phoenix, AZ during training and an initial experience period for up to 6 months.
Travel for annual operating familiarization flights as required by federal regulation
