Position Overview

A growing manufacturing organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to support core accounting functions, financial reporting, and operational finance activities. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial results, supporting the month-end close process, and partnering with operations to provide insight into manufacturing performance.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in general ledger accounting, experience in a manufacturing environment, and the ability to work both independently and cross-functionally.

Key Responsibilities

Month-End Close & General Ledger

  • Lead and support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
  • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Maintain accuracy of the general ledger and trial balance
  • Analyze and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Support internal and external reporting requirements
  • Analyze financial results and provide variance analysis

Manufacturing & Cost Support

  • Support cost accounting functions, including inventory and production-related accounting
  • Assist with inventory reconciliations, cycle counts, and variance analysis
  • Partner with operations to ensure accurate tracking of production costs and efficiencies

Process Improvement & Compliance

  • Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting processes
  • Assist with audit preparation and support external auditors
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy within accounting processes

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with operations, supply chain, and finance teams
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Support ad hoc reporting and special projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3–6+ years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting
  • Experience with inventory, cost accounting, or production environments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA or CPA-eligible
  • Experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment
  • Background in inventory accounting or standard costing
