At Heart Aerospace we develop the ES-30, a regional hybrid-electric airplane with a capacity of 30 passengers, an electric zero-emission range of 200 km and an extended hybrid range of 400 km. Heart is targeting type certification of the ES-30 by the end of the decade.
Your Mission:
At Heart Aerospace, we’re shaping the future of sustainable aviation with the ES-30 — a regional hybrid-electric airplane designed for a greener world. We’re seeking Mechanical Design Structures Interns passionate about aircraft design, materials, and engineering fundamentals. Perfect for students pursuing Aerospace, Mechanical, or related degrees.
What You’ll Do:
Assist in the design and development of aircraft structures (fuselage, wings, empennage, etc)
Support CAD modeling using Siemens NX
Implement changes to the design based on structural analyses (static, dynamic, fatigue, etc)
Learn and support FEA modeling with tools like Nastran, Patran, Abaqus, or ANSYS
Assist with structural test planning, data collection, and validation
Collaborate with engineers on manufacturing support and design troubleshooting
Learn composite design principles
Participate in team meetings, design reviews, and technical discussions
What You’ll Learn:
How aircraft primary structures go from concept to production
Load analysis, structural testing, and mechanical reliability
Building and evaluating FEA models
GD T, DFMEA, and fundamental manufacturing concepts
How engineering teams collaborate in fast-paced aerospace environments
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related engineering
Strong understanding of engineering principles and structural mechanics
Familiarity with CAD tools (NX)
Curious, motivated, and eager to learn
Passionate about aircraft design and sustainable aviation
Strong written and verbal communication skills
These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have:
Knowledge of composite materials (carbon, fiberglass) and metallic structures
Experience with FEA methods or structural calculations
Exposure to manufacturing processes or structural testing
Understanding of FAA/EASA aircraft certification basics
Base Pay Range:
$30/HR — $35/HR USD
