GENERAL PURPOSE: The Retail Security Specialist has a visible presence at store entrances and exits, working to prevent theft and fraud while ensuring a safe environment for both associates and customers. You will greet customers warmly, establishing a friendly atmosphere that deters theft through your presence and adherence to our policies. You will work closely with store leadership to minimize loss and enhance operational efficiency.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain a Safe & Secure Environment: Prioritize safety by practicing safe behaviors and assisting in creating a secure atmosphere.
  • Develop Great Teams & Partnerships: Offer excellent customer service by welcoming customers with a smile and answering questions courteously. Engage with team members and recognize their efforts.
  • Mitigate Theft & Fraud: Monitor for suspicious behavior and communicate findings to store leadership, following best practices for theft prevention.
  • Minimize Operational Shortage: Educate and train associates on loss prevention strategies and ensure compliance with checkout protocols.

COMPETENCIES: Manage work processes, business acumen, planning and aligning, collaboration, leading by example, effective communication, and ensuring accountability.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; AA degree preferred.
  • One year of retail supervisory experience or equivalent training.
  • One year of loss prevention/security training preferred.
  • Active Security Guard License preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with strong communication skills and excellent customer service abilities.
  • Must meet all legal requirements for security positions including background screening and drug testing.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA: Regular attendance and timeliness are crucial. Ability to stand and move around the store for extended periods and lift over 25 lbs.
