Surgical Technologist; CST

Position: Surgical Technologist (CST) - Full-time

Position Overview

We are looking to hire a Surgical Technician to join our Operating Room. The Surgical Technician is responsible for preparing the operating room for the surgical procedure, including instruments, equipment, and supplies. They must maintain the sterile field during the surgical procedure. The technician may scrub general cases including general surgery, gynecology, urology, podiatry, and plastics, and may serve as 2nd, 3rd, or 4th scrub in all surgical specialties.

Schedule

Full-time, 40 hours per week. Shift: Days—10-hour shifts available.

General Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology; completion of a surgical tech apprenticeship or military program.
• Or graduate of an LPN program with surgical experience; or equivalent experience to demonstrate competency.
• CST certification preferred in Iowa; required within 18 months of hire if working in Illinois.
• LPN license required if you are a graduate of an LPN program.
• No prior experience required.
• BLS certification.
• Mandatory reporter status.
• Ability to work with diverse groups of people, under pressure, and independently with accountability.
• Ability to accept responsibility for direction, control, or planning of activities.
• Adaptability to perform a variety of duties, often changing tasks efficiently and calmly.
