Join Our Growing Eye Care Team
We are seeking an experienced and patient-focused Optometric Technician to join our growing eye care practice in Costa Mesa. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in a retail optometry office and be comfortable working independently in both clinical and optical settings.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys delivering exceptional patient care, has strong technical skills, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform independent pre-testing, including visual acuity, auto-refraction, tonometry, retinal imaging, OCT, visual fields, and other diagnostic testing as needed
- Accurately document patient information and exam findings within the electronic health record (EHR) system
- Provide optical sales support, including frame styling, lens recommendations, eyewear dispensing, and patient education
- Schedule patient appointments and manage daily clinic flow
- Verify vision insurance eligibility and benefits
- Assist with patient intake, check-in, and clinic operations
- Maintain exam rooms, diagnostic equipment, and clinical supplies
- Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the patient experience
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a retail optometry office
- Experience performing optometric pre-testing independently
- Knowledge of optical sales and eyewear dispensing
- Experience with EHR systems and clinical documentation
- Familiarity with vision insurance verification processes
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
- Experience with contact lens training and education
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
