About the Role Our client, a vibrant and diverse elementary school in Nashville, Tennessee , is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Bilingual Elementary School Teacher fluent in both Spanish and English. This role is essential for supporting our growing population of English Language Learners (ELLs) and fostering an inclusive, culturally responsive learning environment. The Bilingual Teacher will provide direct instruction in English language development and support academic content acquisition across core subjects. You will work closely with other teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure all students receive the necessary tools and instruction to succeed academically and socially. This is an on-site teaching position within a supportive and collaborative school community. The ideal candidate is passionate about bilingual education and committed to the academic success of all students. Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality English Language Development (ELD) instruction to ELL students. Provide academic support in core subjects (Math, Science, Social Studies, ELA) using bilingual strategies. Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners. Create a positive, supportive, and culturally responsive classroom environment. Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure successful integration of ELL students. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and school initiatives, in both Spanish and English. Administer language proficiency assessments and monitor student progress. Participate in professional development opportunities related to bilingual education and ELL instruction. Foster strong relationships with students, families, and school staff. Requirements Valid Tennessee Teaching License with an endorsement for Elementary Education (K-5 or similar). Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (written and verbal fluency required). Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, Bilingual Education, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching elementary school, with experience supporting ELL students preferred. Knowledge of second language acquisition theories and effective instructional strategies for ELLs. Strong classroom management skills and ability to create an inclusive atmosphere. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a school team. Commitment to student-centered learning and equity.
