Safety Worxs is seeking multiple experienced Night Shift Construction Safety Professionals to support a major heavy civil infrastructure project in Norfolk, Virginia. This is an excellent opportunity to join a long-term project where you'll play a critical role in maintaining a strong safety culture, supporting field operations, and ensuring compliance in a fast-paced construction environment. Must have bridge and roadway experience.
Duties include but not limited to:
Administer compliance with the safety program and lead accident prevention efforts to ensure company and project safety goals are met.
Conduct site inspections of project work areas and equipment.
Develop, organize, and implement safety related programs that meet company safety standards.
Assisting in the investigation of accidents and determining root causes and recommend corrective /preventive measures.
Perform and document jobsite inspections and audits with a focus on hazard recognition and unsafe behaviors.
Coordinate and conduct safety meetings/training programs to ensure effective communication amongst new and existing employees.
Participate in regulatory agency inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
Carry out any other assigned tasks given by the Area Safety Manager or Area Project Manager.
Must be able to stand, walk, and climb multiple flights of stairs.
Outside role, working Night Shift.
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of construction safety experience , preferably supporting heavy civil, infrastructure, tunnel, or transportation projects
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health Safety, or a related field or a nationally recognized safety certification such as CHST, OHST, STS, STSC , or another credential recognized by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) or an equivalent nationally accredited organization
Strong knowledge of OSHA construction regulations and industry best practices
Demonstrated commitment to safety leadership with a highly visible field presence
Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project teams
Ability to work night shift and overtime as project demands require

$`125/day per diem, 7 days per week for qualified non-local candidates
