About the Role:

This is a role for someone who thinks like a journalist: always curious, always scanning the news, always asking — so what does this mean for us? You will help drive PubMatic’s earned media presence, thought leadership content, event communications, and research output — translating complex industry dynamics into sharp, credible narratives that move the business forward.

You will sit within a lean, high-impact corporate marketing team, reporting to the Senior Director of Corporate Marketing and partnering closely with Digital Marketing, Product Marketing, PR, and Sales. This is a role for someone who reads the trades over coffee, spots the angle before the meeting starts, and knows how to turn an industry trend into a company point of view.

What You'll Do:

Thought Leadership Earned Media

Drive PubMatic’s thought leadership program by identifying story angles, developing pitchable narratives, and collaborating with PR partners to secure coverage in key trade outlets (AdExchanger, Digiday, Adweek, Ad Age)

Monitor industry news daily and proactively identify newsjacking opportunities — translating fast-moving market developments into PubMatic’s point of view in real time

Support partner announcements, award submissions, and contributed content that builds PubMatic’s credibility with industry audiences

Support the development of PubMatic’s research-driven content — including whitepapers, industry reports, and data-backed thought leadership — from concept through publication

Executive Communications

Develop talking points, messaging frameworks, and briefing materials that prepare PubMatic’s leadership team for media interviews, conference appearances, and industry panels

Support byline development and executive content across channels — working within clearly defined scope to amplify leadership voice without duplicating the Head of Communications function

Event Content Speaking Programs

Lead content strategy and execution for PubMatic’s owned and sponsored events — including agenda development, speaker selection and prep, keynote narratives, and presentation materials

Write and edit executive presentations, conference talking points, and session content for internal and external spokespeople

Ensure every speaking moment ladders up to PubMatic’s broader narrative and business objectives

Content Marketing Owned Channels

Contribute to PubMatic’s owned channels: blog, website copy, email, and event content — maintaining a consistent editorial voice across formats and audiences

Develop content that maps directly to business priorities, supporting Sales, Product Marketing, and GTM teams with assets that build pipeline and credibility

Partner with the Senior Manager of Digital Marketing to translate content into compelling social media programming — including executive video content, partner-driven stories, event roundups, and campaign amplification

AI-Augmented Workflow

Leverage AI tools as a core part of your workflow to increase output velocity, accelerate research, and iterate on drafts efficiently

Bring the editorial judgment to know when AI assists and when human voice, nuance, and credibility must lead

Who You Are:

5+ years of experience in marketing communications, content marketing, corporate communications, journalism, or PR — ideally with some background in ad tech, digital media, or a related technology sector

A genuinely strong writer with demonstrated range: long-form research and whitepapers, executive-voice content, editorial commentary, and channel-specific copy

A journalist’s mindset: intellectual curiosity, news instincts, and the ability to quickly understand a complex, fast-moving industry and identify what matters

Experience developing research-driven content — from scoping the topic and sourcing data to packaging findings for multiple audiences and formats

Familiarity with the programmatic advertising ecosystem — SSPs, DSPs, CTV, retail media, identity, agentic AI — or a clear, demonstrable eagerness to develop deep domain fluency fast

Proven ability to prepare and support executives for communications moments: interviews, panels, keynotes, and briefings

Hands-on experience with AI writing and research tools, paired with the editorial discipline to know where automation ends and human judgment begins

Strong cross-functional instincts — comfortable working with Sales, Product, Digital Marketing, and PR to align content to business outcomes

Exceptional project management skills; able to manage multiple workstreams, deadlines, and stakeholders without losing quality

A portfolio or writing samples will be requested of top candidates — expect to share work that demonstrates range across formats, including long-form, executive voice, and editorial or news-driven content.

BA/BS in communications, journalism, PR, English, or a related discipline preferred
